Valencia Formula E test: Turvey takes lead on opening and final day
Recently, Formula E teams were doing the pre-season testing in Valencia, Spain. NIO Formula E Team showed a wonderful result. Oliver Turvey, one of its drivers, finished top of the timesheet for two of the three days.
In the afternoon session of the opening day, Turvey posted a 1m18.565s, which was 0.012s faster than Renault e.dams' Sebastien Buemi, with Audi's reigning champion Lucas di Grassi just 0.002s further back in third.
After Monday the opening day, the layout of the Spanish track was tweaked slightly for Tuesday’s running when another chicane was added on the start/finish straight. That added around three seconds to the lap.
On Thursday – after a one-day break for media activities – Turvey set a new record for the FE layout, 1m21.822s, outpaced Daniel Abt by a tenth on the day and was fractionally faster than Buemi managed on Tuesday.
